Odom's Taxidermy & Deer Processing, LLC

Brad started cutting/processing deer for himself, friends and family in his early teens. Over the years he has learned and grown, both in experience and his desire to turn deer processing into a business. It took many years but in 2023 Brad and Karis were able to legitimize the processing side of the business, built a shop better suited for quality deer processing and rebranded as Odom’s Taxidermy & Deer Processing, LLC. Like most hunters, Brad has always had an interest in taxidermy and dreamed about learning the trade. He had a wonderful opportunity in 2016-2017, he found an ad in the newspaper; a seasoned taxidermist looking for a shop helper/apprentice. He worked in that taxidermy studio for approximately a year, gaining hands-on experience. In the fall of 2018 Brad decided to give up his day job and open “Odom’s Taxidermy”. That same fall Brad and Karis met. Karis had little experience with taxidermy or deer processing. In the beginning she helped on weekends, mostly just to spend time with Brad. Over the years she became more involved, learning more about running a business and becoming a business partner. Spring of 2021 Brad and Karis made the decision for Karis to also join the team full time. Brad and Karis are always looking for ways to do better. In 2021 they decided to go to the annual Tennessee Taxidermy Convention & Kentucky Taxidermy Convention. The state associations have been great sources for continuing their education, going to seminars, taking classes, meeting other experienced taxidermists.
